Brian's Birthday Bash (BBB)
22 to 23 January 2017
The birthday trip is always a mystery tour and this year after travelling from Poole, Dorset we have a coffee stop at the Hilton Hotel, Chieveley Services
on the A34.
From here we travel north and arrive at the Evesham Vale Shopping Outlet, Evesham, Worcestershire for lunch.
Located hear is a delightful narrow gauge railway and the opportunity was taken to ride on this small, but interesting system.
We continue north west for our overnight stay at the Telford Golf and Spa Hotel
in Telford, Shropshire.
On the 23rd. we travel south east to Leamington Spa, Warwickshire for lunch.
Leamington Spa station was my order for lunch and a very busy hour was spent at this location where I found the Chiltern Railways staff most helpful and obliging.
After the lunch stop we proceeded further south to our mystery destination.
We arrive at the Guide Dog National Breeding Centre, Bishops Tachbrook, Warwickshire.
A most enjoyable and interesting two hours was spent here.
We were lucky to see many puppies starting out there life to help blind people.
Our tour guide gave us much information on how dogs start out on there training and the problems blind people face daily and especially in getting about.
This is certainly a charity that deserves all the public funding and support
it can get.
After the visit we return south to Poole, Dorset with another stop at
Chieveley Services on the A34.
A great two days out with interesting locations being discovered.
Many Happy Returns to Brian.

Brian Way (Wayahead travel) January Mystery Tour and Birthday Bash.
Brian's Birthday is 23 January.
After heading east then north from Poole, Dorset, we have a coffee stop at the Hilton Hotel, Chieveley Services on the A34.
From the services we travel via Marlborough, Calne, Bath and North Bristol and arrive at our mystery destination in Portbury.
Located here is Okham Treasures a museum where the past come back to us.
To say the museum is packed with item is very much understating what is on display and some of my picture will give you an idea of this.
This truly is a place with something for everyone.
If you are in the area I would recommend a visit even if you have to make a detour.
After the visit we travel to Filton, Bristol for out overnight stay at a
Holiday Inn Hotel.
The next day, Sunday, we make our way into Bristol and proceed to Bristol Temple Meads station.
We our joined here by our official Bristol tour guide, Liz, who gives us a very interesting history of Bristol during our coach tour of the city.
Many interesting buildings and areas of Bristol are pointed out to us as we proceed to Brunel's Suspension Bridge that spans the Avon Gorge.
After the tour a two hour lunch stop gives your Host the chance to photograph the revitalised docks area of Bristol.
After the break we head back to Poole, Dorset via Bath, Warminster and Salisbury.
A mystery tour is always an interesting experience and keeps you guessing on destinations.
Brian never fails to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
A GREAT WEEKEND.
